Coconut & Lime Sugar Scrub

So spring has finally decided to show up here in western Pennsylvania but, I'm still counting down the days till the tulips bloom though.  While I wait {not patiently, mind you} I decided that I needed to start getting springtime ready, for me that means exfoliate time!  After the harshness of winter my  body needs some extra work to get ready for the warm weather.  One of my favorite ways to do that is  a nice sugar scrub. This recipe is so simple and within minutes you'll think that you are standing on the beach with a margarita in hand.

What You'll Need:
  • 1 cup Sugar (Estimated)
  • 1/2 cup Coconut Oil (Estimated)
  • Lime Zest
  • Lime Juice (Half of Lime) or 2-3 Drops Lime Essential Oil (Optional)
Directions
  •  In a microwaveable bowl, place coconut oil and heat until the oil is completely melted. This may take anywhere from 30-45 seconds.
  • After coconut oil is melted, add sugar to the oil and stir until combined.
  • Once the mixture is blended together, add the zest of the lime and the lime juice or essential oil.
  • Take a shower, relax, and enjoy your silky smooth skin!
*A Few Notes*
  • I used regular white sugar but feel free to use a coarser sugar to better exfoliate.
  • Have a cut or scratch?  Omit the lime juice and use the essential oil or lime powder as to not irritate the injury.
  • Also for a stronger lime scent, use the essential oil or a fragrance oil.
  • Coconut oil is solid at room temperature, so if your scrub hardens up just run hot water over the container and you'll be good to go!
